Every year at the Intel Developer Forum the computer chip giant gazes into its crystal ball to predict the future and this time it sees — robots.
DON'T TOUCH THIS: A robotic hand with Electric Field Pre-Touch which allows it to sense the environment without having to touch. IT IS finally starting to happen — improvements in microprocessor technology and robotics will in the future make it possible to create robots that are smarter than humans.
At its annual developer conference, Intel announced that its research labs are already looking at human-machine interfaces and expect promising changes to come sooner than expected.
“The industry has taken much greater strides than anyone ever imagined 40 years ago,” said Justin Rattner, Intel chief technology officer.
“There is speculation that we may be approaching an inflection point where the rate of technology advancements is accelerating at an exponential rate, and machines could even overtake humans in their ability to reason, in the not so distant future.”
